Free Construction Leads Are Not a Pipe Dream

There are plenty of companies and people who would try to convince you that getting free construction leads just isn't possible. They might tell you that you can't get something for nothing and that if you want qualified leads you'll just need to pony up some cash. I'm here to tell you, though, that if you're willing to put in a little time and effort then you can score more free leads than you'll know what to do with.

One easy method for generating no-cost leads is to embrace the viral video concept. It amazes me that more contractors and service providers don't take advantage of this opportunity. If you have a basic video camera and any amount of creativity then why not put together a few short, clever clips for distribution on YouTube and other free video sites. Stick your company's website address and phone number on the end of the video and if it goes viral it could generate a huge amount of exposure. Not only that, but videos on internet sharing sites tend to rank very well in search engine results, so when a potential customer searches for a service provider on Google they might just see your video sitting right at the top of the page.

Another simple way to generate free leads for your construction business is to write an educational article for your local newspaper. These publishers are often so desperate for content that they will accept almost anything for print. Pen an informational piece about the best methods for DIY projects around the home and make sure the end of the article includes your phone number and web address. I'd be surprised if this tactic didn't lead to at least a few new jobs for your company.

Lastly, consider starting a blog. Many people scoff at this idea but it could be the most effective method out there for getting free business leads. You can start a free blog at blogger.com, and you don't need to know anything about programming or html code. All you need to be able to do is write interesting and educational content. Write articles on a consistent basis and you might be surprised just how many people in your area stumble across your posts while searching the internet for information. Even if they don't call you right away they might bookmark your site and call you down the road when they're ready to have some work done around the home.

As you can see there are a number of ways to generate free construction leads. I know that you can come up with some ideas of your own if you're just willing to think "outside the box". You don't have to go broke by constantly buying new job leads; you just need to be willing to put in some time and energy to drum up some quality no-cost leads.
